Body Building Association to host Fitness Jam and Exposé today, public encouraged to support

Fitness enthusiasts and those persons who just want to burn a few calories are being encouraged to participate in this weekend’s Fitness Jam and Exposé put on by the Antigua and Barbuda Amateur Bodybuilding and Weightlifting Federation.
The first edition of the event which takes place on Saturday starting at 3pm until 6pm at the St. Anthony’s Secondary School (SASS) grounds and is in aid of offsetting costs for the national team to travel to Aruba for the regional championships in September.
It is one of several fundraisers the sporting body will host.
A number of activities are scheduled for tomorrow’s event, so said Melissa Seaforth, Public Relations Officer of the ABABWF.
“It is open to the public, its for everyone. Its not a long event so, this is not one of those events you want to stroll into two hours late else you will miss out on the action. We have four fitness instructors that will be taking you through aerobic routines for 30 minutes and of course, we will take breaks in between so that we can get hydrated, take a break, catch yourself but we have Steps in Motion by Monette Theodore. We have contemporary with a new instructor called Anewbian “MOfit” Anthony and then we have afro, so if you like the afro beats, we also have a new instructor Shannan Lawes and we are going to end it off with socarobics by none other than Tony “The Tiger” Jacobs.
“In addition to the fitness jam we do have competitions which will be testing flexibility, agility, balance and of course, the last-man standing. The winner will walk away with a trophy,” Seaforth detailed.
