New York lifts blanket mask mandate for healthcare facilities

As of Sunday, staff, patients and visitors at New York state healthcare facilities will no longer be required to wear masks.
Now it’s up to each individual health care facility whether or not they will continue to require them. At last check, Albany Med would not specify if they will keep the requirement. St. Peter’s says they will continue to require masks as long as transmission levels in the Capital Region remain high.
New York State Department of Health Acting Health Commissioner Dr. James V. McDonald says decreasing levels are allowing them to shift away from blanket mandates.
